HE SHED HIS BLOOD FOR ME
His head hung low in the fading sun
Do they know what they have done
And the afternoon grows dark and the crowds disperse
His body's taken down and in tears immersed (chorus)

Chorus:
He shed His blood for me
Though I nailed Him to the cross
He opened my eyes to see
Just how sinful my path was
Now I pledge my life… for eternity
To Jesus Christ… who gave His life
He shed His blood for me!

Wrapped in cloth lying in the tomb
Just as a child in its mother's womb
Soon to arise out of a transient "sleep"
To open Heaven's Gates… His promise keep (to chorus)

I doubted Him when He appeared to me
The stripes He bore I had to see
But a faith that's blind is stronger still
Now I embrace my Jesus and give Him my will (to chorus)
